The McAfee Update Launcher automatically updates your McAfee software. When using any virus protection program, you must ensure that all virus definitions are up to date before performing a scan. If you no longer wish to use McAfee's virus protection, or you decide that you would rather only allow McAfee to update its software when you direct it to, you can remove the Update Launcher from your system.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" in the lower-left corner of your screen.
   
   
2. Select "Control Panel" and "Add or Remove Programs". A list of currently installed programs appears.
   
   
3. Click on "McAfee Update Launcher".
   
   
4. Click "Remove".
   
   
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
